Cosun
has communication terminal products research
center of more than 5,000 square meters
and has established mobile phone, telephone,
fax machine, electronic toys R & D centers
in Beijing, Shanghai, Huizhou and Shenzhen.
15% of annual sale was spent on the development
of new product and technical innovation;
its R & D strength has achieved international
R & D level. Cosun has large number
of high-tech personnel, including old professors
taking special allowances of the State Council,
owners of national patents and senior engineers
with many years' experiences.
Cosun has a number
of sharing or strategic cooperative R &
D institutions, and has cooperated to establish
R & D base with many domestic universities.
The newly built Beijing Cosun R & D
center is focusing on the R & D of chips
for mobile phones.
Cosun R & D
center has developed many communications
and electronic products as China's first
LCD display phone, management card phones,
IC card phones, public phones, e short message
telephones, wireless small switches, wireless
cellular terminals, wireless Internet cards,
interphones, fax, PHS, GSM mobile phones,
CDMA mobile phones, wireless links telephones,
repeaters and etc.
Cosun is granted
as "Guangdong Mobile Communication
Terminal engineering and technology R &
D center" and "Guangdong engineering
technology center" by the state.

Main R & D Bases
Beijing R & D Center
---- Focusing on the realization and market-orientation
of high-end mobile terminal products. Beijing
R & D center continues the technology
and R & D strength of former CECT and
was joined the R & D system of Cosun
Group since 2002, involving R & D of
CDMA and GSM type high-end products, with
sub-sections as ID, MD, software, hardware,
SP and etc.
Shanghai R & D Center
---- Focusing on the R & D and realization
of high-end mobile communication technology
as 3G and etc. Shanghai R & D center
is focusing on the R & D of Skyworks,
CDMA, PHS and 3G technologies. At present,
it has a R & D team with nearly 200
members, with chip-level development capability
of mobile communication terminals, and with
complete and independent R & D and production
guidance system.
Shenzhen R & D Center
---- Focusing on the R & D and realization
of MTK platform products. Shenzhen R &
D center is focusing on the R & D of
audio and video multimedia mobile phones.
It now has more than 60 core technical staff
of mobile phone. Among them, two staff were
among backbones of the earliest state "Eighth
Five-Year Plan" GSM mobile terminals
research project.
Huizhou R & D Center
---- Focusing on the realization and market-orientation
of low-end mobile terminal products. Established
in 2002, Huizhou R & D center now consists
of software, hardware, ID, MD, quality departments;
210 staff members are devoting to the realization
and market-orientation of the mobile terminal
products.
